SSIXX created by Batik, debuted in February 2021 in its first iteration - SSIXX presents Everleigh-After at the iconic Federation Square, Melbourne.
A travelling degustation for intimate groups and individual’s seeking an otherworldly dining experience. SSIXX presents Everleigh-After blended the matrix of technology with an intensity of flavour, striking the perfect balance of sensory enhancement in a mesmerising backdrop of sound, sight and gustation. Batik developed SSIXX’s DNA leading the creative direction and architecture of the SSIXX experience.
In collaboration with NW Group and masters at work - The Everleigh and Peter Gunn of Ides. SSIXX; a host inspired by the deep desire to reconcile a new appetite, led guests through a prism of imagination inspired by metamorphic illusion and unconscious desire. Seductive sounds, optical illusions and luminous lighting operated in a seamless symphony to deliver an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
SSIXX will be presenting a new concept and Australian location launching in 2021 following the overwhelming success of it’s Melbourne debut.

IN AN INNOVATIVE RESPONSE TO OUR UNUSUAL TIMES, EVERLEIGH-AFTER DELIVERED A DELICATE DANCE OF EUPHORIC ILLUMINATION AND SENSORY DEGUSTATION.
SSIXX presents Everleigh-After, a unique culinary collaboration operating at the nexus of gastronomy and science. Explored the unshakable desire to travel beyond the realms of imagination. Intuitive in design and artfully articulated, The Everleigh in collaboration with leading Australian Chef Peter Gunn of IDES, cultivated a blend of art and flavour interpreted through digital environments to create Australia's first dining expeirence in a digital cube. Inspired by The Everleigh's seductive atmosphere, Batik designed the Everleigh-After experience to evoke the five sensory pillars through a narrative described in a multi-discplinary design response.

DEGUSTATION I - ICE
“Commencing with the ice age, your first course cultivates elements of the ocean on a bed of ice, acting as nature’s ancient time capsule. Your body functions as a vessel of water, I ask you now to contemplate its origins. Water is lucid, ever-present and an element that by nature constantly reinvents itself, passing through the ecosystem and the vast expanse of time, infusing your bodies and the world with vital hydration. I invite you now to commence your first course".

DEGUSTATION II - WOOD
“Your second course conceals itself in a wooden box replicating the beginnings of man made structures and the discovery of fire and smoke. Humans make houses, shelter and a place to call home. I ask you to contemplate your comforts and acknowledge your ancestors and their perseverance to create in order to survive. I invite you to lift your plate from the box in front of you".

“Your third course celebrates the advent of agriculture with meaty flavours and leather textures unfolding in a parcel of discovery. I invite you to contemplate the myriad of flavours you have experienced in your lifetime. How long these dishes have survived and evolved from generation to generation through the systematic process of agriculture, community and refinement. I invite you to uncover your third course and begin".

"Your fourth and final course calls upon the magnificent marble city of Rome. Often, when your species creates pillars of great luxury, they have crumbled and destroyed you. I invite you now to smash open the box in front of you and feast on its rich marble ruins and contemplate what luxuries you would die for".
